Had a look at Fat% the last few days, and it strike me that it is the only thing that show a steady trend. Curious to see if the trend contines today, at weigh-in.

6/24: 82.30kg, Fat 24.2%, Muscle 59.10kg, Water 53.8%
6/25: 82.80kg, Fat 22.8%, Muscle 60.65kg, Water 56.0%
6/26: 83.75kg, Fat 21.6%, Muscle 62.30kg, Water 57.9%
6/27: 84.95kg, Fat 19.9%, Muscle 64.50kg, Water 60.6%
6/28: 83.55kg, Fat 19.6%, Muscle 63.75kg, Water 60.3%

I can’t seem to find a trend for my journey so the trainer will check my BF% tomorrow and I ordered a scale. One of those electrical ones that you stand on and hold a thing with your hands. To me it looks like while you gained 2 pounds, you gained muscle and lost quite a bit of fat. I’d say that’s a good thing ;). I hope to be able to do the same over the next 11 weeks.

peeperjj Unfortunately my weigh-in after this series of number wrecked the promising trend. Our level of electrolytes in the body seem to play a major role. We are mostly water, and how hydrated we are at any given point is probably why scales can be frustrating.

We just set up a new diet scale. 24.8bmi, 39.4%bf, 24.7%smm, 6vis fat, 1317 BMR and body age of 43. I’m 37 and trainer measured with calipers today and said I was 26.59% bf. Will try the scale in the morning for a more accurate reading hopefully. So frustrating that I can’t get two readings to halfway match (tape measure, calipers used by hubby, me and trainer and now a fancy scale :/ ). I get so frustrated I want to hit something or eat. So I’m gonna read to put it out of my mind then sleep. Hope you find a trend soon that can be relied upon! I had 2 pieces of pizza for dinner and gained 13% bf haha.

peeperjj The instruction booklet need to be read. Mine say. For accurate and consistent measurements, the weigh-in moment need to be 3 hours after these things. Waking/Eating/Exercise, plus at the same hour every day. In addition to this I find the salt/electrolyte intake need to be consistent, as hydration play a considerable role. I worked out 3pm is a good time for me, and today I kept a close eye to salt. Hoping to be able to balance on this rope over the next several days.

peeperjj Just wanted to add, that types of food may impact our hydration. I had pork rinds prior my last weight check. I suspect these had a drying effect on my body. Will therefore exclude this for a week, while I try to figure out my daily salt requirements.

I sat down and read the manual last night but forgot it by morning aobread it again. It says 2hours after any exercise, meal or hydration and preferably immediately upon waking and emptying bladder. Online recommends hydrating first in the morning as you tend to be dehydrated upon waking. One man did his every few hours for weeks and found a time that was closest to what he measured by hand and what the trainer said. He insisted that the key was consistancy then comparing that with trainer numbers.

Last night hubby just had to play with it so I assumed it wouldn’t be accurate but I didn’t expect it to say I had 13% more BF than the trainer said. That’s like 18-20# more fat for me and that’s significant. This morning said the same on BF but my smm changed as did my weight. This leads me to believe dehydration but there’s also a 90% chance I’m wrong lol. I like puzzles and this is a puzzle for me to figure out. I get frustrated but not enough to stop. AND we ate pizza last night as a treat for the kids. I ate a lot but still half of what I used to so I don’t feel guilty but I keep in mind that all that fat and carbs didn’t help me any. The family are begging for family favs and me sharing too so it’s potatoe soup tonight which again loaded in carbs. I’ll add a salad to balance out hopefully and maybe add some chicken to mine.

peeperjj Thank you for all this good info. My instruction do not say that anything about not drinking water. I have been very unsure about water, and will try out your instruction. Stop water intake at 1pm for the schedule I'm on. Glad you like puzzles. I think it would be really cool to crack this, and get rewarded by a nice little fat % reduction every day. On my scales HighHydration=HighMuscle&LowFat. Low hydration is opposite.

Your welcome! Google Omron 514 manual. There’s one online and that’s our scale. There is a ton of more information online but it gets overwhelming lol. I had a big cup of coffee and a bottle of water and very little change in my scale numbers. I think I may try again tonight but the problem with that is the weight won’t be accurate as I gain 1-5# by the end of the day. I think as long as I establish a baseline with the scale I can do the math to figure out what it would be with the trainer measuring. I go back in 6 weeks to be measured again. Have you been measured? Perhaps you could be and then compare to your scale numbers. Our trainer does it for free as part of the program I’m in. Said most charge a small fee though.

peeperjj I moved near a tiny town by the mountains a few years ago, to reduce stress basically. There are few luxurious here, so I have to help myself as best I can. Read your manual, and as you say, they suggest monitoring at waking, and 2 hours after each meal. No such suggestion in my instructions. Also, like you say, it's get a bit much to chew in one bite. Will have to allow some weeks to get a hang of it. Wishing you good fun on your exploration. 👍
