MsDiane1771's Journal, 13 June 2018

I am grieving the loss of my husband on 2-1-2018. My weight went back up to 208 lbs. at that time. We eat out a lot due to loss of desire to cook. I am in a depression and don't do much. I need to try to get outside and walk at least around the block every day. Some days I don't even get dressed. I have been on meds for depression but this kind of depression is different. I was 194 yesterday but 198 today. I have become attracted to sweets again and this is my challenge to lose weight. I will get back to 190 again soon. My mood swings are just so big right now. I can be good one moment and soon have bad moments again. My Facebook has kept me sane. I don't wish this type of grief on anyone.
198.0 lb Lost so far: 6.0 lb.    Still to go: 44.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 0.1 lb a week

Grief has its ups and downs. Somedays you feel a little better and then the roller coaster takes a downward plunge. Loss is one of the very hardest things we ever face. I'm not going to give you any advice because loss like yours is not a "walk it off" thing. I am sending a hug and a be good to yourself your way.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have several friends who joined grief support groups offered locally. All of them said it was tremendously helpful. If you are in the US, maybe your area has something similar? Be very gentle with yourself.

I am so sorry for your recent loss. A friend of mine lost her husband and recently posted a quote that meant a lot to her: “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” Quote of Jamie Anderson This may not resonate with you, but I put it here in the event that someone might feel a little lift from it. May you find deep joy and purpose again, when this season wanes.
