Yesterday was good, last night was the polar opposite. After a pretty strong, mobile day, I ended up tweaking whatever the hell it is just as I was falling asleep and that was it for a couple of hours (I won't look at the clock at night unless it's something like gunshots). Spasms and pain. Did icy hot and ibuprofen and finally fell asleep. Oddly enough, I feel pretty good this morning and can twist to each side without any pain. Guess I'm going to have to rethink my nighttime routine. Also going to take some the straps from my mom's hip surgery and keep them handy to pull myself up when the spasms hit as that seems to help and getting up is the hard part. Overall it really is better, I just did the absolute wrong movement. For those worried, this is a journal, not an obsession, it'll get better. Truly. Otherwise, I would be at the doctor's.
Had breakfast for dinner last night, waffles and cottage cheese. Reminds me of the cottage cheese blintzes my grandmother used to make us as a treat. I should have included the raspberries I ate later, that would have totally recreated the memory. Blew that opportunity. Maybe next time.
Got up and did some very basic stretching and squats while brushing my teeth. If nothing else, I have four minutes of squats every day.
Going to go spend some time at mom's today. We've been doing coffee rather than meals. Better for both of us even if it include a croissant or crepe. I wish we weren't in this crazy environment so she could get out freely and enjoy this time of year.
Okay with the numbers this morning, no walking, no swim, so maintaining is all I can do. Might try swimming, but need to make sure someone local knows I'm in just in case I can't get out. 🙄
Finally, little girl I rescued from the skylight yesterday. Totally unharmed. I've learned that it's safer to grab them than to try and move them along with a broom or something. That just freaks them out. One of the hazards of an indoor/outdoor office. She's hanging out this morning scolding me so she's totally fine and okay with me as long as I keep feeding them.
Onwards we go.
