The Theory was good, the Experiment failed, but, the Results were great 😊
🌟 Theory – Looking at my past weight loss, I must go multiple days of low carb and protein to burn actual Fat. 🌟 Experiment – For the first time in literally years go low carb and protein for 5 days. 🌟 Results – While I did not make the 5 days (I had pickles last night and will break the fast this afternoon), I lost 10 pounds in 4 days. Did I lose 10 pounds in Fat? Nooooo – I probably only lost 1 pound of actual fat. However, I actually lost some fat and that was my goal.
My body requires Glucose/Glycogen to burn fat. My body burns calories using the energy in my cells (ATP - Adenosine triphosphate), through cellular respiration:
C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O.

The equation expressed in words would be: glucose + oxygen → carbon dioxide + water + energy. The equation is formulated by combining the three following processes into one equation: Glycolysis — the breakdown of the form of a glucose molecule into two three-carbon molecules i.e. pyruvate (pyruvic acid).
So my theory is to deny my body dietary glucose (this also means protein because excess protein will be converted to glucose through gluconeogenesis), and I will lose weight.
Yeah I know this is nothing new. This is what Atkins and Keto basically are.
Now I start my 3-day vacation. I will fill my body full of carbs (the source of glucose in my body). My weight will jump because my body will store much of this glucose as glycogen, and each gram of glycogen requires 3 g of water to bind the glycogen to muscle tissue.
My hope is to not re-gain that 1 pound of actual fat I lost before I start the fasting process again.
