Sounds like me and hubby. I stress eat, he stress starves. Would really love to stress starve... I'd be less than 100lbs in a week, lol

I stress starve Lchfjo --- when I'm really anxious, I just can't eat. Weight comes off fast, but it bounces right back the minute I return to normal eating.

I stress starve too. I have to force myself to eat when my mood is altered and off-track for some odd reason or other. :-\

You’re already skinny Liv! And just catching it early is OK, no problem. I stress starve too like your husband.
I’m very blessed that the Lord hasn’t given me much stress lately so I have to watch it on my own! (Just had a package of Nila wafers😩 but only 130 calories- nutritionally no value! If I eat a cookie I’d like it to have nuts or something in it that I know at least I’m getting something out of it.)🌺

"Stress Starving"? That would be so cool if I had that. Oh well... (sigh)

I find that my body resets after about 4 or 5 days when I eat too much or something I shouldn't - usually potato chips.

Oh my gosh potato chips - that’s my downfall. I never never never have them in the house, if they’re in the house within 30 minutes they’re gone! Absolutely no resistance, can only have them for special occasions and birthdays.😋

thanks all. Yes, I think emotional eating is common as is trigger foods. Journey around eating is not easy. Thanks rubato. I am guessing that one of the rules of normal eating is to manage emotions. Which is why I am happy that I realized that I eat when my partner is stressed. I hope to recognize this and maybe control i the next time

I'm the same as you Liv! Gosh, I wish I was one of those who can't eat when stressed! I eat my stress, or used to 7 months ago. Two things in particular that set me off is when my husband is upset and when I had to work 60 hour weeks (which was more of the norm than not). Praise the Lord I'm retired now, so I got rid of one trigger! I guess, exercising and doing small things for myself (like putting music on and painting for an hour by myself) help me. Sometimes you have to get away from the stress for a little bit. I hope you find whats triggering you and some good non-eating ways to reduce it!

Stress is real and I either eat, or can’t. 🤦🏻♀️. It’s nothing that’s going to stick, and I’m sure is gone by now🤗💜💚

Bearnoggin, I think I need to think of strategies. It is really the evening that gets problematic. So one think I need to do is to make sure I have eaten well if stress is on horizen and then probably hide all trigger food and yes find other things to do. I will work on that. Jcmama, it will come down. i am just doing normal eating so it will be slow. Also hope to convert some of that lovely energy into muscle LOL
