A delicious split pea soup with a flavor you would not expect that gives it a real kick.
Ingredients
Directions
- Heat oil in pot.
- Add onions, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add garlic, bay leaf and rinsed and drained peas. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Let simmer on medium heat until peas are tender (about 45 minutes ).
- Once tender, find and remove bay leaf, then take hand blender and blend soup until desired consistency.
- Serve with a dash of hot sauce. Enjoy!
