Its been about 3 years since I've been on here :/ I was just looking through all of my old logged journals and can't believe how long its taken my doctor to figure out something was wrong! I started on Atkins about 4 years ago, and followed it faithfully (I did not once cheat) for a year and a half. I lost 47 lbs total. I hit a plateau that I could NEVER budge. I tried EVERYTHING! That plateau lasted 6 months. I still did not cheat. Out of no where I began to gain it back. I went back on induction, even cut my calories, hoping that I could stop the fast moving doom that I had been dreading -gaining it all back. Nothing I did stopped it, and it came back quickly and with a vengeance. I made several trips to my Dr hoping that she found some miracle number that would give me all the answers - nothing. Well, my weight has maintained, no matter what I eat I don't lose or gain, and my energy has vanished...FINALLY she looked at me and said "your thyroid is gone!" woo hoo! I finally have something! So, I'm on new meds, and back at it! Hopefully with lots more success this time around ;)
