Me day Friday was wonderful! Very much enjoyed the mani/pedi and massage :) Failing at my goal to make myself breakfast! I did buy myself some protein bars today for a quick grab and go. This will keep me away from the soda and chips :)

I read an article today about a girl who had an autoimmune disease where she was basically bedridden 90% of her day because she was so tired and in pain. She was on several different medications and after little to no improvement over a 6 month period she started researching holistic treatments. She drastically changed her diet and eats just a plant based diet, no processed anything. (prior to this she didn't eat any fruits or vegetables) After 18 months she has reversed her symptoms and is no longer on any medications. Food really is medicine! And kudos to her for having that dedication and love of herself to change her life!

I'm doing pretty well making healthier suppers for my family and having better snacks on hand. But I am sorely lacking in planning for myself when I leave the house. Need to figure out why that is! I can't think too much today as my sinuses are clogged from the lovely cold going around here :(

EDIT: Emergen-C packets give me a bit of an energy boost in the afternoon. I may have to keep some in my desk for even after I'm feeling better!

So so on healthy eating this weekend. Played the wii for an hour or so with my son Saturday (half of which was Just Dance), so got a workout in :)

For a few years I've been dealing with serious dry eyes, redness, and pain. I had gone to the doctor and was told I had dry eye and take Systane drops. They helped a little, but the problems persisted, so a few months ago I went to another doctor. She said I don't have dry eyes, but inflammation of the middle part of my eye and gave me steroid drops. These have helped a lot, but I still had a few days where my eyes were horribly dry. A week ago a friend at work said she and her daughter have been using Head and Shoulders shampoo as a face wash and was talking about how great her daughters skin looks and her redness and bumps were going away after just a few days of using it. So I thought I'd give it a try, been using it since Wed and while I don't notice a huge difference in my skin yet, I notice a difference in my eyes. I realized this morning that I haven't had to use the extra Systane drops in the morning since Friday and this morning my eyes feel fantastic, they are moist and pain free!! I feel like there is a connection. I replaced Proactiv face wash in the morning with the Head and Shoulders. I am going to keep an eye on this. I go back to the eye doctor for a check up Friday and am hoping I get the all clear to stop the steroid drops too! I'm wondering if I am allergic to an ingredient in the Proactiv? I've had the eye problem for almost 3 years. . . I started using Proactiv 4 years ago. Hmm, I sense a connection!
