I'm 53, and been successful with a variety of weight loss programs, but, like one of my heroes, Oprah, I haven't successfully been able to keep the weight off. Emotional eating is one of my favorites.

My passion is natural healing, and truthfully, I'm better off a vegetarian, so, I'm trying to stay away from one of my #1 addictions... chicken. And of course the all present... sugar.

I'm on day 6 of a 42-day Miracle program, and I also blog at www.the-soul-story.com. I'm a mom, would love to get paid for writing, and internet marketer. Also, energy healer and marketing, internet and practice manager for my ex's www.emotionalrelease.com.

Very happy to be in this community!

Atkins shakes and bars
I bought a six pack of Dreyers Frozen Fruit Bars. They're natural, only cost $4 on sale, and only 60 calories and no fat. Yummy, and you can eat 3 or only 180 cals! 3's my limit! Even I can't eat the whole box at once. Laughing

Losing the First 30
I know I'm a little thinner on day 5, but I haven't weighed myself yet. No working scale, and I postpone buying one. Monday is a great day to start. I'll buy a scale today, and eat as lightly as possible, so the shock won't be as great tomorrow when I step on.

Going vegetarian is the right way for me. I see meat as one of my primary addictions, especially chicken. I know it contains arsenic, unless you buy organic, and I want to stop eating it and all meat, hamburgers, hotdogs. Will I still be an American if I stop eating all meat and sugar?

Yesterday I got swept into a birthday party at the park. My kid made friends, I didn't even know these people, but they sure knew how to eat. Ribs, burgers, and cake from Hansen's, one of the most famous bakeries in Los Angeles. They all walked away and left me alone with the cake. I felt like an alcoholic at an open bar. I couldn't resist a taste which turned into a few... but still alot less than I would have normally eaten, and though I ate a huge dog and half a burger, I stayed away from the buns. (thereby adding less to the girth of my own personal buns).

So, today I return focus to my goal to lose 30 pounds by August 2nd. I'm going to a raw foods retreat in Sedona, and I don't want to show up as the fattest one again!

Day 3 of the 42 Day Miracle Intensive~
It's all about being accountable, and also divine guidance. Divine guidance is realizing that everything is happening exactly the way it's supposed to for your highest and best good. If you're trusting this, you're always looking for the messages that Spirit is sending you.

Both Juli Gunn and James Hyman, remind me to show up ruthlessly in the present moment, and to ask in every moment to be shown the way.

It hasn't been very hard so far to change my diet, to the Eat Lightly diet. I'm keeping a food journal here at fatsecret.com, only eating when I'm hungry, and eating lightly. Exercise is the important one to add on, if I'm going to reach my goal of 30 pounds lighter in 42 days.

Julie told me to try interval training. Exerices hard for 30 seconds, that recover for 1 1/2 mins, and repeat this cycle 8 times for 14 1/2 mins. total. I have to push myself to exercise. I'm increasing my protein in committing to Juli and my partner to exercise at least an hour at day, and to get into the gym in the next 24 hours.

Yesterday, per Juli's program, I asked for guidance from my angels to all the tools I'll need to achieve my goal, and one of the things I was led to was this fatsecret.com, so, I hope to find a community to connect with here too.

At the end of the 42 days, which is July 25th, the next week I'll be heading to Sedona for a raw food retreat! After that, I hope to start another 42 day program with Juli, to lose the next 30 pounds. I haven't weighed myself yet, but I'm assuming I'm starting out around 190, with my ultimate goal 130.

I checked into a hyped up shake that tastes like cake, body by Vi or some such thing and identified soy protein isolate as something you want to stay away from, which is what many protein shakes are, I guess. I'm going to be looking for a great shake to start the day with a delicious smoothie that's going to give me the essential minerals and other supplements my body needs. I'll post here when I find the right thing.

In the meantime, if you want to check out any of what I'm talking about, here are the links to Juli, James, and the Grace Grove Kidney Cleanse Raw Food Retreat in Sedona in August.

Lots of love, gratitude and support for everyone in this community,

Barbara

this morning I had a dream
So, it's day one of my 90 day program which is not only to lose 60 pounds, but also to declutter my apartment, establish a structured work schedule, and be successful both personally and professionally in my chosen field. (as a writer). I'm not sure what this is going to look like yet, but I'm moving forward with gratitude and hope, even a little self-confidence.

So far today, I've eaten 30 pistachio nuts, and have committed to 1 hour of exercise, and taking 3 bags of stuff to Goodwill.
