Hi Diary,

This is my first entry.

You must have noticed that it is only 3am and my calorie count is already quite high... please, do not think anything of it, I am working a night shift at the moment and I need the calories to keep myself awake.

Just so you kno, i will also be working a night shift tomorrow.

This usually has a tendancy to make my eating habits and patterns quite erratic... but it's only a few times a month and I just might sleep all day tomorrow and not eat anything at all... which isn't too great... but I suppose this is something i will have to live with until I get a job with more regular working times.

I also thought i'd update you a bit on my diet since I have never written anything on here yet.

my name is Ruty. I am 29 years old. I live in London (that is in the UK, not Canada, by the way). I have a boyfriend whom I love very much and who is very supportive of the diet I am on at the moment because he's known me a long time and has seen me through weight loses and gains... he knows how unhappy I am about my weight and not only encourages me to work out and diet to return to my ideal weight of 70~75kg, he also carries around a step counter just like myself to push me to be more active during the day.

we were lucky enough to be blessed with an angel of a daughter in May 2008. She sadly passed away 11 months and a week later and we are still very much dealing with the grief of it. I suppose that my current weight has a lot to do with this as well as the pregnancy that saw my stomach expand and never return to its original size.

I decided to start dieting more seriously when one day my boyfriend told me that my weight gain started to become noticeable in my arms and shoulders.

it may be silly of me but i know that i have put on too much weight when i cannot my collarbones sticking out...

my current diet is very simple : eat like i have diabetes... please do not be offended by my saying this. i mean no disrespect to people who suffer from this disease at all. i have a close relative who is affected by type 1 diabetes, i know what it is like. i know it's nothing fun. but, you see, 4 years ago, i got quite sick. my insuline went crazy and i had to go on that sugarfree diet for a whole 2 years. i was at great risk of ending up in a diabetic coma if i didn't... and i never lost so much weight than i ever did in these two years. i only started gaining back the weight during pregnancy... and i believe that if i managed to do this once, i can do it again... hopefully, being 30 is not going to get in the way of this...

i think that's all i have to say for now. i will try to get some work done now. after all, i AM at work, right ?

Good night !
