Hello to whomever may read this! I am a middle-aged housewife, Er,domestic engineer, who loves her family, friends, and pets. My purpose in life thus far has been to take care of anything that breathed within my field of view. Unfortunately, I didn't include myself, so I am now overweight, hypertensive, have hypothyroidism, pre-diabetic, have to have a knee replacement, have fibromyalgia, chronic tendinitis in both my thumbs, and have waves of muscle cramps in my inner thighs at night. Whew!

I started on LCHF May 13, 2017. So far so good! With determination and the tools here, I plan to lose 100 pounds of fat. After that, who knows?

I'm trying to lose weight before my surgery, hoping for 20# before then. Also trying to improve muscle tone to help my recovery.

Hope everyone has great success with their own goals.

Trying low keto diet
Do you mean you are doing Low Carb High Fat ketogenic diet? That is what I am doing. I need to lose over 100 lbs. I am pre-diabetic, have hypothyroidism, hypertension, and fibromyalgia. I just started on my journey, and so far am doing well. The keto-flu has hit with a vengence, but I am dealing with it by drinking boullion broth. Anyway, the biggest thing I see with this is to keep your protein appropriate for your weight, and do not be afraid of fat! 70% of your caloric intake should be fat.But don't eat so much that you aren't burning your own fat. I based mine on an 1800 calorie/day. That means 1260 calories is fat, the remaining 540 calories is mostly protien, some carbs. Carbs are 20< per day. My protein is about 20-25% of my calories with only 5-10% carbs. If you can't tell, I am a bit anal about recording what I eat!Smile

Good afternoon!
Just wanted to say "Hi!" and say how much I am looking forward to losing weight with the helpful tools on this site, and reading all the motivational stories, too. I am doing LCHF to help me lose weight, prevent diabetes, and hopefully help with my fibromyalgia. Less strain on my heart, and my joints is important, too.

I have been overweight since my 20's, I am now 58. It's time for me to take care of me!
