Calorie watching and Still SO HUNGRY!!!
Make the greatest effort on what you have for breakfast. This meal sets you up for the day. Nice portion of slow burn foods will ensure you will only feel like a light lunch then have a full evening meal that is bulked up with veggies.

Recommend that when starting off with a diet you enter what you have eaten during the week prior to diet. be really honest. The calories you have eaten the week before should be the basis from where you decide to reduce calorie intake. Dont forget to enter your daily exercise at a minimum, depicting sleep hours and the remainder as rest hours.
Start by reducing intake by 100 cals or so when your comfortable with that reduce by more until you get to the point where you are managing to achieve the recommended daily amount.

Remember it took a long time to put on the weight give your body enough time to reverse the process.

At this moment in time your body WILL require a few more calories than recommended but with increased fitness and reduced body mass it will come down.

Good luck.

Night time eating
Increase the slow burn food in your daytime diet. lentils, barley, split peas, yellow lentil. believe me I had severe munchies at night after meals in bed the lot, due to the reduction of my usual calorie input. Today I have been pleasurably full from the moment I woke til now.

Try it and see.

Just make bulky soups so they are like a stew and instead of bread use a cripbread should you feel the need to have a bit of crunch.

Or cook a bit of lean meat as a side order with it for variety.

Home Gym more reps or more weight?
If you are planning on losing weight on the scales then building muscle mass will not achieve that. You are likely to look trim and toned but your muscles will increase in density.

So I guess the decision is down to you strength and muscle or toned a dainty lol.
