Just retired after 23 years as a business litigator, which relieved me of a tremendous amount of stress. Now I want to adopt healthier habits and lose the 30+ pounds I put on in that time. I'm 63, about to be 64 in January, weigh 189 pounds, am 5'9" tall, have a bum right knee and tight right hip.

I walk my dog 40 minutes five days a week, lift weights with a personal trainer for an hour twice a week, and try to stretch every day. Haven't ridden my bike since I broke my left arm 8 months ago, but am planning to resume cycling two days a week and take up yoga.

If you want to work up on your own, get an iPod, load your favorite tunes, and pedal in time ton the music. It will make the time go faster and will get you used to pedaling with the music.
