Because of my wife's illness (she's in a nursing home with Alzheimer's) I am now thrust into the role of food preparer. At the same time I am trying follow Paul Jaminet's Perfect Health Diet. So far I've done a very good job of avoiding the food's that need to be avoided, but daily menu's are much too narrow, monotonous and poorly prepared. Realistically, I know that I'll never be good in the kitchen, but I'd like broaden my menu and make sure that I am eating the right amounts of the basic nutrients. I know that I've lost a significant amount of muscle in the past couple of years and at the age of 80 that's called becoming feeble. I'd love to add on ten or so pounds provided they came in the form of muscle and not abdominal fat. I still work for a living, but most of my work takes place in front of a computer.
