Most of my life I'd been an average weight, or even under-weight for 5'-10" @150-170. When my marriage was ending I had ballooned up to 210 and felt horrible. After my divorce I dropped from 210 to 170 in about 2 weeks. My doctor said I'd probably gain it back just as fast but I stayed at about 175-180 for 5 years or so, without watching what I was eating, etc. I like running, hiking, mountain biking/climbing, playing football, etc... I'm an active guy so I figured whatever weight I'd put on in the winter, I would always lose in the spring. However, 3 years ago it didn't come off like it normally did. Eventually I got up to 230 and was limiting the stuff active stuff I typically do in the summers.

I hit 50 years old in April and decided to start working to try to get back to 175-180.

I had lost about 8-10 pounds on just running the short distances I could manage and limiting my sugar. After watching a bunch of keto videos on youtube I put together a Keto plan I quickly dropped some weight to whatever it says I'm at now - haha. I notice I seem to drop it a couple days then plateau a few days then drop some more... it's encouraging. Also, when I wake up in the morning if my body is hot(haha) I know my metabolism has kicked in. That seems to happen for 3-4 days in a row then takes a break for a couple days, then back to it again.
