I used to be a serious athlete; I rowed in college and ran three marathons after that. Then I fell in love with a non-athlete... For a while we balanced each other out - he did a half marathon and a stopped working out three times a day. When the stress from work and a busy life caught up with me, the balance tipped to being more-or-less sedentary. In two years, I've gained about 70lbs!
I've obviously noticed and been unhappy with about it, but haven't stuck to getting back to where I want to be until the events of this past weekend (May 23, 2015). We had traveled cross-country to attend the wedding of two of our friends and while getting ready for the ceremony I busted out of the zipper in the back of my dress and the dress was ruined. I didn't have anything else to wear to the wedding and had to spend the evening in the hotel room while my husband went to the wedding and told our friends I had a migraine...
So I've had enough of being fat, thank you. It's time to get back to my body and then things I used to love. I've got a long way to go, but I'm ready.
