Praise the Lord! I'm starting to lose weitght. Iv'e been watching my diet and exercise really closely for 3 weeks now, and I'm finally seeing results!

Verse of the day:

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Of course this is talking about the spiritual strength that comes with waiting on the Lord and having patience in his plan. Even though that's what it means, it seems like it can be seen in an physical health and fitness way. I waited for God to show me the fruits of my labor (results from the diet and exercise), while I waited I learned how to run without getting breathless and had confidence as of flying like an eagle. He gave me the results I longed for. I prayed about it frequently, and He answered. Praise the Lord! He is truly amazing :)

A little disappointed today. :/

I have gotten into the habit of running a 5k at leas twice a week. Have been running a 5k for 3 weeks now. I noticed that my calves were hurting me really badly, but of course I ignored the symptoms thinking it was just muscle cramps.

Last night I ran another 5k with my sister. This time both legs were in excrutiating pain. Not from my muscles, but from my bones. It felt like each step was breaking my, at that point, very fragile bones below my knees.
I'm thinking they are shinsplints. An extreme version of shinsplints are tiny little fractures. I could barely move my legs after we were done.

I absolutely love running. I've even gotten to the point of running where I can easily breathe. Now, I can't run for a while, or do any form of jumping in my exercises. Please pray for me. This is very important to me :)

If I can say no, so can you :)
If you are like me, you have a problem saying no to food. Lately, I have been saying no to foods I really love to eat. Normally, I would say yes without hesitation and eat whatever they offer me in abundant amounts. Iv'e always had this problem.

This morning, a coworker of mine offered me a kolache. I love kolaches! But knowing that the calorie count would be rediculous, I politely declined. My other coworker was offering the kolaches again accept a lot more aggressively. She was putting the box very near my face saying, "Come on just eat one!". I kept refusing and got a little frustrated with her.

That wasn't the only time I refused junk food. I refused pizza a few times in the last few days. Pizza is just so amazing, it's easy to fall in that temptation. Instead of stuffing my face with the deliciousness of the gluten filled, fatty, greasy, goodness, I decided to drink a filling healthy smoothie.

So yes, it's hard to say no. I definitely understand that, but it's not impossible. I am learning on a daily basis to make wiser decisions with my food choices. Thank the Lord I'm making progress! You can too, just keep at it.
