I've been dieting most of my life. I have learned so much about nutrition, eating right and exercising you would think I'd be thin. No, not me. I have a love hate relationship with food, mostly the sweets. I am very much the emotional eater.
I have four wonderful children who are mostly grown (1 at home). My oldest daughter is expecting my first grandbaby in Feb '08!!! I'm also married to the most wonderful man (i'm one of the lucky ones)!
I'll be 53 my next birthday...I just don't feel like it.
I love to travel on the back of our motorcycle. Love Daytona!! I even like to sing karaoke.
My oldest daughter is expecting my first grandbaby Feb 24th...Can't hardly wait!! So I have a lot to look forward to and being healthy for myself is a real priority.
I live in So. Georgia so it's Hot and Humid most of the year. Exercising outdoors is a real problem.
Happy Dieting to all...

Help - motivation needed
Hi Morgan,
You sound like me 15 -20 years ago. According to my husband (he's my ex now) no matter what I did or how I looked he just called me fat, dumb and happy. Yeah I was overweight, dumb yeah I stayed married to him (had 4 kids), and happy,,no way,,I was still married to him. But I knew deep down that It was up to me to be happy, and happy with myself no matter what he tried to instill in me. Look inside yourself and find your self worth. I know you will find it, it's there waiting to be found. Don't be afraid, of failure or of success. Celebrate each pound lost or each inch lost. And as one "wise" woman once said "tomorrow is another day".Scarlett O'Hara.
Find your reason for being motivated. Mine is better health, since I do have a blood pressure problem, I find I have to work out every day.. I hate it but it helps.
Now give yourself a big ol' HUG!

Overweight (RISK FACTORS)
Sad Other problems of being overwight are chronic low back pain, bad knees, the fact that some MD's will not do surgery if you are overweight. If your knees are hurting it's hard to get out and walk. Swimming may be your only option for exercise and it's not always available to everyone. I have a friend that wants to eat better but cooks with lot's of salt and butter. I told her Baby Steps. Cut down, not out, on the salt and butter or change the butter for one of the new heart healthy margarines. But just take one small step at a time. Heart disease and diabetes aren not fun.
