Whats the best substitute adiction to a food addict?
I would advise trying to drink sweet drinks like light hot chocolate, because you actually take longer to drink that than you would to eat a chocolate bar/sweets/pastry etc. That way, you've got your sugar fix, savoured it for a longer time, and managed to lessen your calories a LOT.
As for a replacement addiction - every addiction is dangerous, but try and reward yourself after a day without refined sugar by buying something you've wanted, or by saving money in a pot every day you succeed, and saving for something bigger. When you get to the point where you've saved enough to afford that thing you'll know you've managed loads of days without sugar AND you get to buy something amazing to keep!!!
Hope that helps

does anyone else feel constantly unable to control their eating?
thanks guys, i'm going to try and work on meals and not snacking, and maybe up my calorie intake. I should have mentioned I'm a vegetarian so as appealing as that steak sounds...

does anyone else feel constantly unable to control their eating?
I have just joined this site, and already am disgusted to see my eating diary in full, and the amount of rubbish that I binge on (whether hungry or not hungry). I was wondering whether anyone else finds it almost impossible to control what they eat, as well as not enjoying healthy foods comparatively to things which are very bad for you.
I just wish that I had the willpower to eat cucumber or carrot sticks instead of reaching for a chocolate bar or pastry when I'm peckish. I particularly struggle with refined sugar - I can't manage a day without it...
Any advice or food to eat instead of bad things would be great - plus any general thoughts as to why I feel this way. I'm not a great cook so some ready made foods would be best.
Thanks in advance
