I'm in the midst of catching up on journals. I am totally inspired by the struggles some have gone through to get where they are today. Daybernt you have really come through a lot and stand proud. So many of you struggle with health issues that make your weight something on the side but contribute considerably to it. Some of you have family issues, and job issues, and other issues in life that put up roadblocks every step you take, yet you move forward and constantly improve your health and weight. I see it as very important to remember how far we have come. Even if you have only lost a couple of pounds, just know that is two more than before you started this journey! You were not losing then and were probably gaining! Like I said earlier I had jury duty Monday and Tuesday. One year ago I was getting ready for the second surgery of the year, and I could not walk 10 feet without resting. I parked a couple blocks from the courthouse and walked through downtown this year! Last year I ate nothing and gained weight. This year I eat good food and lose weight. I even walked up several flights of stairs several times in the last two days. A year ago I could not walk up the three stairs to my door! I have not yet arrived, by I am so thankful to God that I am not where I was a year ago! A year ago I really struggled doing my cakes for the fair, this year I not only was able to work on them but work overtime at work most days also! There are too many things to tell here but truly, whether you know it or not, I have come a looong looong way and it affects my confidence and my health. Thank you.

Well, had an erratic couple of weeks but back on track now I hope. Fair, Travel, then trying to catch up with real life, and dealing with a bad cold. Monday I sat down at my computer and looked at my calendar and realized I had jury duty, so I raced out of the house with no food. I did not get chosen but had to sit two days and listen to the questions proposed to the ones that did get chosen. Monday I went home at the lunch break and finally ate. Tuesday I took lunch with me then took a nice walk through the downtown area of the town. It was nice walking on sidewalks, since there are none where I live, and the weather was perfect. I do have to go back next Wednesday and will probably get chosen on that jury since the pool has decreased so much. I had gained about six pounds through all the bad eating but now have lost it again. I know it was water weight cause my ankles were very much swollen.

I am tired. After being so busy with the competition and class and work, and traveling to see my grandson, I am worn out. Unfortunately it is affecting my emotions also. I am taking things way too personally. Part of it is also probably due to being off diet through all this. I did well for the most part, but did indulge on fair days and on our trip last weekend. Now I have to get it all out of my system. I've also got some water weight from the travel as my ankles are swollen.

The hiatal hernia is bulging out and hard. Does anyone have experience with one? It bothers me to sit or stand very much and any activity which would be healthy, like walking or working out. It was repaired twice last year. Its bothered me more since it was fixed than it did before. It is probably worse cause I've had about 8 surgeries on that area and the muscles are weak. Planning on a doctor visit, but I hear there are some manipulations that can be done to put everything back in place.

Fear not for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
