Happy Monday Friends! This is the day the Lord has made! :D The sun is shining .. the sky is blue with some patchy white clouds .. and there are still some beautiful leaves of gold, red, oranges, yellows, and greens hanging around! My sister and I were away this weekend at the hermitage .. one of three quaint little cabins that are nestled in a beautifully scenic wooded area on the lake. We go there every three to four months to get away from it all .. and to spend the weekend with the Lord! We fill ourselves with the Word as we read, study, and think on the Holy Scriptures .. we spend time in prayer and intercession .. we get quiet before the Lord as we seek Him .. it's just a WONDERFUL, AMAZING time of renewal, refreshing, and meeting God in the "secret place"! I was a little nervous going into it that I might overeat .. but we spent time before heading out measuring out portions and counting calories (so we didn't have to do it once we got there) .. and it paid off! It was a lot of work having to plan out five meals ahead of time .. but SO WORTH IT! We were able to stay on track .. we stayed within our calories each day .. and we did some walking and hiking over the weekend as well! :D It was an amazing weekend with our AWESOME GOD! <3

Super excited for my weight loss this week! I'm thankful to God in all of this! It's because of HIM .. His help, His ability, His wisdom, His strength .. that I am able to overcome! I've had some victories this week that I'm thankful for .. I even managed to go without a sweet treat yesterday - not because I was forbidding myself to have one .. but simply because I didn't crave it (and those who know me, know what a victory that is! lol). I won't deny myself any foods because that only tends to get me into trouble .. and I don't feel like that's realistic. This isn't a "diet" for me .. but a way of living my life in order that I can glorify God, and so that I can be the best me possible! It's a wonderful feeling to know that eating well and consistent exercise is paying off! I'm feeling determined for week three! :D

I'm celebrating a victory! Last night I had eaten dinner and had my snack .. but I was still so tempted to eat more, even though I was completely satisfied and didn't need anything more. I struggle with sugary treats .. and the cookies were calling my name! I had already had my sweet treat for the day (I am only allowing myself one treat a day right now). Normally I would go ahead and splurge without a second thought .. but last night I didn't give into the temptation! :D Tomorrow is my weigh in day .. and I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic about it. That's a NICE change over feeling dread!
