Hi! I am dcgal8!

I am 30, F, 228 lbs., size US 18 on top, 20 on bottom. I'm looking to get back to what I call my "fighting weight".

But more than the weight loss, I want to feel healthy and fit again. I have been going to the gym on and off for the last year, and my energy level has increased dramatically, even if there has been no change in weight. I also don't get headaches and backaches as often anymore.

I am also trying to cook at home more often, and I love trying out new recipes and kitchen gadgets. Of course, some of the recipes are not diet-friendly, which means sweet treats mysteriously appear sometimes in my office's break room. :D

Daily intake tools??
Does anyone know if there is a way to show something like a piechart showing your % fat, % protein, etc of your day's consumption?

Right now, it just shows the grams of each, but I'm not sure how to tell if I'm going overboard on any category?

Thanks!!

Notes for Future Reference??
Hi!

Is there a section where members can keep notes/urls/etc for future reference?

I am new here, but am having a very hard time locating a "notepad" if there is one.

Any help would be amazing, thanks! Very Happy

Hello everyone!! This is Day One for me.

I tend to think that this site is a little high on the calorie estimation. i also think that Calorie counting can be a tricky thing to understand...

my final thought, is that I believe the suggested calorie is to maintain your current weight...you may want to go lower than 1850.

That makes a lot of sense (about the maintaining RDI vs. losing RDI)! So I guess depending on how much I exercise, I should look at 1850 cals as the absolute ceiling I should aim for for any given day.

Thanks Stacie (and everyone else for the wonderful suggestions)! I am very excited about this community.

Greek Yogurt VS Regular Yogurt
I LOVE greek yogurt! It's creamier, thicker, more satisfying, and more tart.

It's also really good with a drizzle of honey & sliced almonds.
