Haven't written much lately. Had a very busy summer that started with a river cruise in Europe, followed by a big Independence Day celebration, then some outdoor projects, planting a garden, helping my son move out of his house and store things at ours, having a couple of Home Exchange groups, visiting Salem, and Southern Maine and now on our way to a stay in Montana. When we return it will be Porchfest in our town and then the following week a big Birthday Celebration for a brother. We still haven’t completed the outside projects and then it’ll be time to close up the garden, deal with the fallen leaves, prepare for the coming grandchild and also for our cruise around the Aegean in January.
Don’t know how people who are not retired get everything done.

I haven’t been logging any journal entries or food for several months now. I’ve stayed at almost the same weight for about 6 months, so I think it’s time to make the effort to lose a few pounds. I’ve maintained most of my good eating habits and my lipid panel numbers have significantly improved over the last 3 years. My A1C is at 5.4 so no concern there.
I’m intrigued by the new drugs being used for weight loss…technically I would qualify, but I doubt I would take something that could effect my liver, pancreas and thyroid and have to be used for life, unless you want the weight to come back.
I intend to read up on the actual trials, results, etc. Preliminarily, I read that people lowered their caloric intake by 20 -30%, were also supposed to be exercising, yet they lost only around 16-17% over 68 weeks; that’s 17 months @$1000-1400/ month. And they could have all kinds of digestive issues as well!
