PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ ALL OF THIS

Hi all, I just want to take some time to warn you about some dangers with being morbidly obese.I didn't think it would happen to me

I am in my mid 40's, weigh over 140 kg,have diabetes & up till just recently was on birth control pill to stop the agonizing pains of my monthly bleed.

feeling very puffed out when walking from the car into the house, having to sit down when walking out to the back yard to hang up washing. After feeling like this for almost 6 months I put it down to being a "fat pig who deserved how I was feeling because I was eating so much and was lazy", I started feeling unusually puffed out & finally this month it got that bad that even talking puffed me. I asked my sister to phone the ambulance,
In the hospital emergency department, had heaps of blood tests & ended up having a CT scan. I was then told I had blood clots in both lungs, a lge one in the right lung and several small ones in the left lung. i was put in the intensive care unit for 3 days then in the cardiac ward for 3 days.

while there, a nurse who works mainly in the morgue told me that I was lucky to be alive, a lot of obese people who had blood clots in the lung ended up in the morgue, dead.

I thank God that I am not one to end up there but feel that I now have the responsibility to remind all who are over weight, that

1. you matter, don't hate yourself that much that you ignore declining health
2. take your health seriously
3. start moving, any exercise is better than none
4. a lot of fatty, salty and sweet foods do cause your body damage when over consumed. healthy eating is not to be underrated
5. obesity and diabetes needs to be taken seriously and should be treated
