Today's been rough. I had an Echocardiograph at 8AM. My blood pressure was a wreck! I have a naturally calm and peaceful mentality and have tried so hard this week to eat right and choose wisely so I'm disappointed that it was sooooo high, SIGH.

For the most part I think today went well. I was happy with my meals, though disappointed that while my dinner veggies were low in calories they were still pretty high in sodium. I also grabbed a cheese stick as an on-the-go snack and shouldn't have (just too high in sodium). Trying to lower ones blood pressure naturally is not as easy as I thought it would be ~ who am I kidding, I thought cutting out soda immediately would do the trick and that I could otherwise eat whatever I wanted, SIGH. All the same, I've been off soda for nine days straight and not really bothered by it like I thought I would be. Overall, I'm pleased with the progress that I'm making. I'm pleased with the fact that I'm taking vitamins. I've only been on them three days but I've been consistent ALL three days, LOL!! I'm also successfully drinking more water daily then ever before and actually thinking about my food choices which I had not bothered with previously.

Yesterday my Doctor called with lab results. My Sjogren's has reactivated, my blood pressure is sky high, and due to both low iron and low vitamin C I have anemia. (Technically I also have the symptoms for scurvy but thankfully they don't call it that anymore, they now refer to it as Vitamin C Deficiency), anyway, yesterday my Doctor started me on a new vitamin regimen.
Over The Counter:
Fish Oil (Omega 3)
Vitamins D, E, B12
Prescribed:
Vitamin C
Iron
My Doctor also put me back on Evoxac for Sjogren's Syndrome and encouraged me to go back on one-a-day Ensure shakes.
I used to consume a lot of caffeine and sugar!! For seven days straight now I have cut down to one cup of coffee a day and no soda (that's a big deal for me)!

My doctor called with my lab results ~ low Iron and Vitamin C. That explains the anemia. She's putting me on vitamins and Evoxac for Sjogren's. This is Day 7 without Soda.

A visit to both my Cardiologist and personal Doctor last week indicated that I have anemia and high blood pressure along with the Sjogren's Syndrome that I've been living with since 2011. So the first thing I did was stop drinking soda, specifically my favorite soda, Dr Pepper. Today is Day 6 without soda and I'm doing well. My Cardiologist has given me a month to change my lifestyle and eating habits, lose weight and lower my blood pressure naturally or I go on a pill.
