Goal Weight

This is me at 79. Diabetic, trying to follow Keto diet to lower glucose and lose weight. I'd like to stick to Keto this time. My goal is to lose 40 lbs. The other goal is to drop my A1c from 9.5 to 6 by mid October. (I did that!) Exercise: that's a hard one at my age. Texas in the summer doesn't encourage walking outdoors. I need to get back on the stationary bike -- right now it makes a good clothes rack.
Me: 45 years as a librarian, 12 years as a teacher, some of those years overlapped! Tried to transplant my Texan to Oregon and Washington - either one was ok since I grew up in the northwest. He wanted to head back to Texas after only three years, so we raised our two boys and a foster daughter on the home place in north Texas. Raising kids on a farm is pretty special! Best decision we made! We're still there, about 50 years later.
I retired at 69 and afraid I would be bored, I started volunteering at our non-profit library, filled my time with Toastmasters, Texas Library Association, Church, gardening, gym membership with my husband, cruising, and family history research. Did I mention I'm a computer-holic too? Several months later I realized I had overloaded myself with busy-ness! I didn't have time to write the children's book I wanted to write, or learn to paint, or do a lot of other things. So by now I have given up Toastmasters and being active in the library association. That helped, but I don't know if I will ever finish that book about gardening with my grandson Sean! And there's never enough time with my 5 grandkids! As for giving up volunteering at the library -- covid-19 decided me to stop volunteering!

Females over 50 - Lose 100 Pounds
Hi, I'm 78 and have been diabetic for 20 years. In June my A1c was 10.5. I started back to Fat Secret, eating Keto, walking, and doing Intermittent Fasting. By the end of August my A1c was 6.4 and I have lost 15 pounds. I'm 5 feet tall and if I weighed what I should for my height I should weigh 105. I'll settle for a goal of 140 for now! Then I'll see what I can do about a new goal. Getting that A1c down has been the most important goal for me.

what is your goal weight, 5'3 and 5'4 ladies?
Jlprpst, I always feel we shortie's got a little short-changed when it comes to food. We like to eat just as much as the tall people, but don't have as much room to spread it out. Best of luck on your food choices! You can do this, and it won't take you nearly as long as you think!

I'm 76, used to be 5' 1 1/2" but age seems to shrink you! 5 feet now! Needing to shrink myself down to 140 and then I'll set another goal, but it will all depend on how I feel and look. For my height and age, I ought to be around 110, but not sure I want to get that low. I'm just looking at the 140 goal now.
