So, im making progress, frustrated still but sticking to it. I'm still fasting and decided to change from the 16off 8on to 18off 6on which is surprisingly not bad. To be honest though, since my last journal entry I had three days where I slipped really bad but I got back on track. Fasting is surprisingly easy, its the cravings that kick my butt, ohhh do they kick my butt. I knew I had an unhealthy relationship with food, sugar addiction, eat too much salt, emotional eater but i didnt realize how bad until i started fasting. Fasting is teaching me to say no to junk I don't need and it also helped me realize just how much of said junk I ate, its so bad! I can actually taste the tons of sugar and salt in certain foods now, I can no longer drink cocacola because its so sweet it gives me a throbbing headache, same with some fastfoods, its like the fasting has reset my tastebuds for certain things. I have also stopped calorie counting i havent stopped completely i just need to figure out how to do it with home cooked meals. I have been cooking a ton more, so I have to rework that aspect of my weight loss journey. Im looking forward to see how much i can lose with this method, I can honestly notice things like mental clarity and focus improving since I have started fasting and my ankles have stopped swelling, I only have pain in one knee instead of both(old injury). So we will see how im doing next week!

so, i guess my "No weight lifting" strategy is working, at least for the last week it has. I have been focusing on just cardio and conditioning. I dont remember putting it the journal last time but i decided to restrict a little calories because i felt that my daily reccomended was WAY too high! Ontop of that I have begun intermittant fasting for the last three weeks which has been amazing for my mental clarity, my acid reflux, my swollen ankles, and my blood pressure, and my sleep...sort of i still have trouble getting to sleep but when i am sleep its amazing! Like...it's CRAZY how much of my problems have deminished from simply(well not "simply" because your body will tell you you are hungry when you actually aren't because you consumed all the sugar and carbs from the previous thing you ate, so instead of eating fat stores it wants something easier to breakdown, the hunger sensation gets real strong at some points so protien during the eating period is KEY, at least for me it is.)changing the time I eat and when! In doing so I have become super conscious of the nitritional value of the foods I eat, which have in turn made me super aware of all the sugar, salt, carbs, corn syrup etc. I had been eating. Sitting here seeing the change actually happen is making me feel so much better because i was working so hard only to see the scale go up, even though i knew it was muscle gain my emotions just didnt want to hear it.🤣 lets see how things go next friday for my next weigh in.

a bit frustrated, i have been doing quite a bit. putting in a lot of effort and in the beginning i lost a couple pounds then i started gaining again. I KNOW the weight gain is because of the weight lifting as well, but seeing the scale go up broke my heart a little bit. its like the logic wont register, well it is registering i understand that all of my measurements have actually gone down about 3/4 of an inch so there is some kind of progress going on, i just hate not being able to see it on the scale. Anyway, I have decided to take weight lifting out of the equation and see how more cardio and conditioning will workout. Im also utilizing intermittent fasting with a 20% calorie deficit, totally expected to be losing a lot more a lot faster which also i think is caused by the weights. anyway, lets give these next 2 weeks a shot and see how it goes.

a couple of years ago fell off of the weigbt loss wagon. I making such good progress too. found a better job, was happier, but I had some moments i let break me and thus gained every pound back and then some. this time though i have a friend bluej87 who is also working on losing weight and i dont think she understands how much she motivates me. im one of those people who works good alone but better with others. I hope we can continue to do this because we have had serious success so far. now to her she feels she hasnt but i can see it. in my iwn success i have personally been avoiding the scale because I know that in the first 4-5 weeks i gain severalnpounds in muscle while burning the fat so i have to wait a while, usually until im reacclimated with the weights for the muscle gain to plateau, it finally has and im 7 weeks in, i am finally seeing numbers coming down! im so excited.
