Down another 0.6 lbs! Which, at my height (5'7.5"), puts me at a BMI of 21.7. Not too shabby! At this point, I'm not expecting, nor would I welcome, larger weight losses than half a pound or so per week. So, I'm tickled pink with just the small change in the scale!

Today is a "rest day" from running, so I'm just going to do the 90-minute P90X yoga workout today. It's virtually no impact on my lower extremities/joints and is really helping with my balance, strength, and stability.

Today I'm also going to try to find time to make a large batch of sprouted lentil, mushroom and zucchini soup to help ease the food prep burden for the week. I'm also going to see if I can make some "salad in a jar"s to lessen the amount of time I'm spending in the kitchen each day! If you're looking to increase your veggie intake and you're unfamiliar with the Salad In A Jar concept, google it. It's fabulous! I have a large pile of roasted beets in the fridge I need to marinate and add to my salads this week, so I'm thinking about making a mandarin, ginger, walnut dressing for the beet salad in a jars. All this food talk is making my tummy rumble! Better shove off to the grocery store and run my errands for the day!

Have a fun-filled and fantastic Friday, Folks! (I do love a little alliteration once in a while!)

I ran 4.8 miles today and I'm shocked at how effortless and enjoyable running has become! This time last year, I was lucky if I could barely limp through 3 miles at a snail's pace, gasping for air, with pain radiating from every part of my body! And now I finish a seven-mile run with sprints, a spring in my step and singing with a smile on my face! The half-marathon will be here before I know it (7 weeks and 3 days to go!) and I can't wait!

Food wise, it's been more challenging to keep within my RDI this week, because my appetite has increased as much as my activity level! I am contemplating increasing my RDI a little because I am so close to my ideal weight and I don't want to sacrifice training performance because I'm afraid I won't lose these extra few pounds of fat. I just want to shift my body composition a little.

Speaking of body fat, I am beginning to feel additional pressure to look a certain way if I want a career in the health/fitness industry. If I want to be a health coach, I know I will be judged more harshly on my appearance than others. That's just the world we live in. I've already experienced it a few times when strangers find out I want to be a health coach. People expect personal trainers and health coaches to look "the part". I'm finding it challenging to strike a balance between acknowledging how far I've come and how far I need to go before I am taken seriously as someone who can give others advice on making positive lifestyle changes. It's sometimes difficult to look in the mirror and see a "health coach" instead of someone who still looks more like a "health coach's client". The fact that I'm turning 40 in 7 weeks doesn't help much either! I suppose I just need to stay focused on my accomplishments, the progress I've made and how my life has been completely transformed instead of comparing myself to a 23-year old who has never been overweight a day in their life!

Today's mantra:
I am strong. I am resilient. I have transformed. I will pay it forward.

Make this day spectacular, Folks! Thanks for reading!
Ciao for now!

I ran 5 miles on the basement treadmill today and managed to completely soak through my shirt with sweat because I left the large box fan upstairs and was too lazy to get it! I was energetic enough to run five miles (in record time, I might add!), but too lazy to walk up a flight of stairs to get a fan? Honestly, I make absolutely no sense sometimes!

Oh, and in the spirit of finding some Halloween inspiration for my Richard Simmons costume (It'll be here before you know it, kiddos! Better start planning!), I was watching some videos of him on Youtube. If you want a really good laugh, search for "whose line is it anyway-richard simmons special". It's hysterical! I really LOVE Richard Simmons. Such a kind-hearted and generous man! I hope I can do him justice on Halloween!

OK, folks... I must hydrate, refuel and continue my vegetable chopping...
"I'm choppin' broccoli... choppin' broccoliee... choppin' broccolaayy..."

Brace yourselves, FS buddies! I've decided I'm going to be Richard Simmons for Halloween! One of my friends said I'm basically him already, minus the frizzy curly hair! Can I help it if I'm enthusiastic about exercise lately? I'm going to embrace my "Inner Simmons" and bedazzle the hell out of a red tank top!! I might also need a spray tan and some inappropriately short shorts!

On the half-marathon training/workout front, yesterday I ran 7 miles in 1:12:30, which is only 29 seconds more than it took me to run 6.2 miles last week!. It was my longest run to date, and it was a LOT easier than I thought it would be! Once I found my groove, I sailed through it! I did feel significantly hungrier than usual afterwards, but I just filled up on a mountain of yummy black beans and veggies!

Today, I have a lot of extra food prep to do for the week! The Sig-O took a long 4-day weekend, so I spent less time studying and making food and more time frolicking/running in the park and watching BoJack Horseman on Netflix with the Sig-O. But now, it's back to "business as usual", Folks!

Have a spectacular Monday, Everyone! Oh, and with August winding to an end, today's 4-minute dance party was appropriately Florence + The Machine "Dog Days Are Over". It was perfect! Give it a whirl:

Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over

Ciao for now, Folks! :)
