I'm not defeated, just a little taken back after discovering that in the last month of strictly following Atkins that I have only lost 4 lbs! I must have been doing something wrong and have tried to remedy it last week, but with all the efforts possible, this diet is not for me. I am starting Weight Watcher's today. I've followed this diet a couple of years ago and lost 12 lbs in a month and actually lost another 12 in the preceding 4 months. I just didn't maintain it and gained back 15 of it. So, knowing how well it worked before, I'm going for it this time. I'm asking myself why didn't I just start WW a month ago? I guess I was being influenced by my 2 daughters who have lost weight and rave about Atkins and how easy and wonderful its been for them. Good for them, but not so good for me. Now I know. So, there's no time to waste, today's a new day ;-)

Okay, according to my food entries I was eating too many carbs and too big of portions when I did. I found out that drinking coffee with all the additives I use was costing me 5 carbs a cup!! Three cups added up to 15 carbs a day, duh! Can somebody help me with why I'm not getting enough calories a day and what to add to remedy that without adding anymore carbs????

Going to be in Hawaii sept 16 - 26. Was so wanting to lose 10 lbs by then. I'm still hopeful and starting induction today since I have a better understanding of the relations to carb amounts.

This morning I weighed in, at my surprise, I was down to 180.4! I'm happy for that because yesterday I sat down with my weight calculations and discovered I was eating "bigger"proportions than I should be. Today I planned out what I'm going to eat down to the exact proportions. I was eating too many carbs, not enough proteins. The biggest revelation to me regarding my food choices is that I am going to plan my diet a day in advance. This will keep me on track to predict the outcome. This is Day 25! I'm starting the induction over, and feel better prepared after reading the facts about the diet.
