I thought I was doing so well all week with not snacking and getting to the gym and then Saturday hit. I went with my husband and a friend to donate blood at a large donation drive locally. It was such a large donation site that we were all separated and sent to different areas. Unbelievably, I was the first one done and sent to have a snack and drink before leaving. Well, I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for my husband and friend with candy, cookies, pretzels, Cheez-its, mini ice cream, juice...........you get the picture. I was through a pretzel and Cheez-it before my friend even arrived at the table, then someone at the table got ice cream for everyone. I guess I was thinking, "well I just gave blood so this doesn't count", but we all know that is not true. Then I get on the scale this morning expecting to have lost weight because I was so good all week and can't believe I didn't even loose a pound. I didn't gain anything either but what makes me think I would loose weight after my snacking binge yesterday? I feel like two different people, one that tries so hard to be healthy and one that doesn't care. I guess I'll start over again today and hope I can stay on a healthier track today. Things are going ok in the weight department. I haven't gained or lost anything so I guess that's good. I am happy to say I started a new job Monday. It was a difficult decision to leave my business but I have left it in the capable hands of my sister and am moving on. I have an entry level contract job in a large corporation in my area but there is room to grow and go on as a permanent employee if I want to. This new job has forced me to cut out my snacking because where I work we can not have food or drink in the particular room that I am in. Because I am busy I don't even notice that I am hungry so as long as I can control my eating while I am making dinner, this might be to my benefit. My stress level has gone way down so I think that helps a lot too. This has been a huge change for me. Going from a small business to a huge corporation is like night and day. So far it has been good. I feel I have already learned so much and am happy to say that even at my age, my brain still functions and I can learn new things. I have also added back my pilates class so I'm a little sore today. They will be switching the class back to the weekend soon so I will be able to get there more often. Weekday nights are tough especially in the winter when it's dark at 4:30 and cold enough that I don't want to go outside. So that's exercise 3 days a week now so I hope that will keep me from gaining over the next holidays coming up. Hope everyone has a great day.
