Today was a good day. BGLs are running fairly stable - at 8 am, 157 but I couldn't sleep last night so that was a bit high - 2 pm, 114 nice number there - 6:30 pm, 130 another nice number so long as it stays under 140 I am happy. My doc has me on a DD60/low sodium diet which means up to 60 grams of carbs per meal. I need to get my fat intake down as I went a bit overboard today, but still managed to stay under the 1800 calories that the doc wants me on to lose 1 lb a week. We will see how that goes by eating all those carbs. At least the carbs I am eating most of the time are from veggies, yogurt, a little fruit and oatmeal. I do have the occassional whole grain bread if I am in the mood for a sandwich. I was on a LCHF diet for so long that I've pretty much lost the desire for bread - blasphemy! *laughs* Bread used to be my fave thing in the whole world. Tonight, I plan to actually put me arse in bed by midnight, even if I have to take a sleeping pill to do it. Going to fast for 12 hours before next meal too.

Feeling kinda blah today. Maybe it is because my BS was a bit higher this morning than yesterday. It was 159 this morning. I think it was because I ate granola yesterday for breakfast instead of just oatmeal. Need to keep an eye on the extra sugar contents in my foods. Or it could be the muscle relaxer. Since I've never taken muscle relaxers before, I don't know how they affect my blood sugar. I will try to keep my grains low today and see if my BS is high again tomorrow. If it is, it very well may be the muscle relaxer.

I am really craving pasta, but I need to decide if it is worth eating the pasta and giving up the oatmeal for breakfast (trying to limit how much grain carbs I am consuming). Maybe I should buy a Zoodler and make me some zucchini noodles. I also have some miracle noodles here that I could use. Just keep thinking about a nice big bowl of pasta with mushrooms, peppers, onions, garlic, zucchini and squash in a tomato sauce... OMG! Yes, I think I will use the miracle noodles and make some tonight *laughs*

Got in to see the doc today about the back, hip, leg and knee pain. He says it is probably sciatica and wants me in physical therapy. He also gave me some muscle relaxers and tramadol for the pain because it could be up to a week before I can get into therapy. I mentioned that I'd seen a chiropractor in Oklahoma and he started saying... No No No! No Chiropractors. What do medical doctors have against chiropractors anyway? Oh well. He was happy to see that I'd lost some weight and asked about my diet. I told him I was eating veggies, fruit, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. He said, you are never going to lose weight eating grains. Ha! In less than a week I lost 4.5 lbs. Didn't do it NOT eating grains because I have some kind of grains twice a day. So stuff it doc! I'm gonna eat my grains. This is typical of how all our sessions go. He tries to get me to do things I don't want to do and I am determined to do what I want.
