Second time on Atkins. I originally lost 25lbs in 3 months about six years ago, but lapses in judgement allowed me to gain much of it back. I never did hit my goal because I stalled and didn't make the effort to go for the last 8 pounds.

A light-hearted attempt to restart Atkins last summer failed.

This time I am going to achieve my goal! I like this site because it lets me keep track of everything I eat and exercise easily. Even though I am only doing moderate exercise, it is really helping me jump start the process.

Also, last time, I lost the weight quickly despite eating pizza every 2 weeks. I figured I could afford to do so since the weight was coming off so easily. I knew this was resetting my ketosis, but it was an important consideration since I did not want to give up everything forever. For me, that is unrealistic. I would eat two large pieces of pizza, but only the crust from one of them. This time, I will only have pizza once a month if I have reached personal goals, but will look to pizza once in a while (no more than once a month) when I finally hit maintenance. I understand the consequences of doing so and fully accept the challenge (cravings) it will bring on Sunday or Monday after eating pizza on Friday.

Out of eggs! Breakfast is tough
Found out that I was out of eggs this morning and didn't feel like running to the store. That REALLY limited my choices for breakfast. I ended up eating sausage and spinach which satisfied me, but I need to add items other than eggs for breakfast.

Any suggestions?

I made the flax meal bread and was not impressed. Are the muffins better? How about the MIM pumpkin muffins?

I am going to jump to OWL early next week, so blueberries will join my meals a couple of times a week (to start).
Looking forward to your ideas.

carbs ver net carbs
You count net carbs (target is about 20) and you can add the net carbs column to your food report area. Do you have the book? If you don't, you really should get it and read it as it has great information. Also check out the community (and info) at atkins.com. Keep reading and asking questions!

Weighing Once a Day Or Once A week.
I presently am weighing myself every other day just to make sure I am on track. Every day is excessive for me, but it's great if it works for you. After another week I plan on changing it to once every 3 days for a while.

Chinese Food
My chinese restaurant will make a dinner without cornstarch or any other starches. I like the shrimp in lobster sauce made this way. You might ask them to serve it in a soup bowl instead of a plate.
