My first day on fatsecret
First, Welcome to fatsecret.
Some peoples weights are gaining and losing, its very common. Possibly from day to day fluctuations. Some people even have the goal to gain weight! (lucky them)
To respond to the calories question. Eating less than your RDI will result in weight loss. The lower your calories, the more rapid the weight loss.
Not all weight loss is a good thing, all you should strive to lose is fat.
The general measurements are that 3500 calories represents 1 pound of fat, and that eating 500 less calories than you expend in a day will result in weight loss of 1 lb per week. The recommended rate of weight loss is 1-2lbs per week for 2 reasons
1) generally believed to be a safe rate
2) usually the longer you follow a healthy lifestyle, the less likely you are to revert to unhealthy lifestyle afterwards
The ideal situation is not to focus too much on the weight on the scale from day to day, but to look for a long term trend.
I can sometimes weigh in on a daily basis, but try to not get hung up on the day to day variances.
Hope that helps!

Trying to find the best diet - Help?
Hi Haneliegirl, In my opinion, the best diet is the one that you can stick with. Most diets can work, but people give up because its too difficult to maintain extreme or drastic changes. I'm sure this website will help you find a variety of options and I would suggest giving effort to the one that would mesh best with your lifestyle.

Pie chart
Hi Delaway, I cant see your pie chart, however I'm going to assume its because the difference in calories between a gram of fat and protein
1 Gram of protein is 4 calories
1 gram of carbs is 4 calories
1 gram of Fat is 9 calories
This means if you ate 200 grams of each, the pie chart will show fat more than double the size of protein.
