Lies: "I hate working out. I'm lazy and I'm okay with it.
Truth: I don't mind working out once I get into it and start seeing results. Because the truth of the matter is the laziness caught up to me in my 30s!!
I've been going to Snap for 45 minutes to an hour 3-4 times a week, plus doing a few crunches and push-ups at home is kind of a big step for me.
I think I'm doing "okay" but I'm not a dumbass, I know I can do better. I know I can run longer. But that stupid timer on the treadmill goes so f'ing slow!
Working out is a huge step for me. I'm usually far too "busy" or "tired" or "stressed" or "broke" to do any form of exercise. I have two kids for God sake. They need me to cook, clean, do homework, go to practices, go to games, bake cupcakes, read books, the dog needs a haircut, the husband can't find his sunglasses.... etc. Well guess what kiddies? Mama's getting a fat ass and she isn't liking it! Sure, I'd rather sit on the couch with a bag of chips and a dip made entirely of butter, cream cheese, shrimp and beer.
I just reviewed my weight for the past few years and found that I was 15 lbs lighter 3 months after my daughter was born. And 17 lbs lighter when I was 3 month pregnant with my son.
20 days ago, I joined up with 3 of my closest friends started our own version of The Biggest Looser. It cost me 50 bucks, but I'm sure it'll be worth it... even if I don't win the pot at the end of the 12 weeks. Accountability is huge.
I have goals. And what's a goal without a little selfish reward?
When I reach my 10 lb goal I am going to treat myself to a few tanning sessions. :)
At my 15 lb goal I'm going clothes shopping.
At my 20 lb goal I'm taking the family to an indoor water park so I can rock the bikini!! :)
So there you have it, this is the story of the lazy jiggley mom making a change... wish me luck!
