What really helped me out this past week was that I had my Dr's apt and knew I was going to be weighed. His scale usually is a couple of pounds heavier than mine at home and I was determined to be below 140 on his scale. It paid off cause I weighed 136! I was so thrilled! It was a different scale and it was the same as mine that morning, yay!! I had hoped to be 20 lbs lighter than the last time I saw him, but hey, I'll settle for 16 lbs lighter. Made me some soup this evening that will probably get me through these next few chilly days and I'm a little upset, I must say, that a particular person tried to bring me down this past week. I know it won't be the last time that someone I hope to get encouragement from lets me down (It certainly is not the first time). The good thing is I gain strength from stuff like this and I am more determined than ever to make it through the Holidays staying around the 135lb area and if I drop a couple more, all the better!!

Radiology Technology week has come and I caved. I will now own that. I gave in to white sugar, white bread, preservatives and the like, although I did not over eat. I am very glad about that. Gained a couple of pounds just in the last few days, after I was doing so good and actually dropped another pound. Oh well, live and learn. I will take the next few days to get all that junk out of my system and will probably feel better by tomorrow. I must say I was surprised at how bloated I felt last night. The congested gunky feeling and the feeling of heaviness I had was a great reminder of why I made changes in the first place, but the abdomen thing, oh my goodness! I looked like I was 6 mo pregnant!! Overall I just felt awful. So I must remember this experience. Fortunately this happened just BEFORE the holidays so it will be fresh in my mind and hopefully it will propel me through Thanksgiving and Christmas and on into the next year. Seeing the Doc in 3 wks and was hoping to be down to about 132 which would have been only another 3 lbs since I actually hit 135 last Sunday and that would have meant a loss of 20 lbs since the last time I saw him a year ago. Bummer!! Well, we shall see. I'm not going to kill myself to hit that goal cause that would prove to be counter productive. Today and tomorrow will be green juice/smoothie and veggie days to get this junk out of my system, but then will resume my normal way of eating. In the long run this is the best strategy. Permanent lifestyle changes. I'm in it for the long haul. Health and wellness is the goal.
