I am 24 Years old. I work as an STNA at a nursing home in my area. You would think moving around and lifting people everyday would help you lose weight. But that is far from the truth.
Until about three years ago I was a professionally trained ballet dancer. But for unforeseen circumstances I had to stop and find a new path in life. When I stopped dancing I began eating foods that I never ate before such as fast food and carbs. As a result I quickly gained weight. Over those three years I went from 100 to 158 pounds. I had extremely low self esteem going from a fit dancer to over weight. No matter what I did to diet I found it very hard to lose weight and stick with it.
After finding out that I have a high risk of diabetes I feel the fire under my butt to lose the weight and keep it off for good through nothing more than adopting a healthy lifestyle. I'm no longer looking for a quick fix to a life time problem.
