I've been pretty spotty about recording my food, but I've been trying harder this past week. With a new medication to monitor, too, I think it'd be smart for me to keep a long-form journal as well.

8/15 Side Effects (1 = barely noticeable, 10 = excruciating)
Nausea: 3
Fatigue: 5
Headache: 3
Body Pain: 6

Today I started (and finished) the 200 sit ups challenge. In my initial test, I did 220 sit ups and only stopped because I was bored. I think I'll add 100-200 sit ups to my running days (MWF), at least until I unpack my exercise ball.

Because I did so well with 200 sit ups, I tried 100 push ups for a challenge. In my initial test, I did 10 (level 2).

100 Push Ups
W1D1 Max: 10

Unfortunately for me, my medication is making my symptoms worse (which is normal--in about a week they'll improve). So, as I sit here, I'm feeling depressed and slightly paranoid.

The Husband just left for work, so I'll find something fun on Netflix to work out with.

...with which to work out.

Self-grammar'd.

I'm not surprised by my recent weight gain. I really deviated from my eating plan in the last few weeks. Now that I'm tracking my food again, I'm even more frustrated than when I was just eating without accountability.

I'm living at home with my parents until the wedding, then Jay and I are likely to live with his folks for at least a few months. Both our mothers cook healthy, mostly whole-food meals, but they tend to be more calorie-rich than I like. (600 calories vs. 350-400). In fact, I like to have several small meals throughout the day with supper topping out around 400.

In order to budget for these bigger suppers, I'm eating a lot less during the day. But, by the time dinner is served, I'm so hungry and cranky that I eat WAY more than I even want to.

Plus there is way too much candy in the house. I'm not eating as much as I crave, but when I'm bored, I usually start grazing on M&Ms.

I guess I just really need to figure out how to get the candy out of my line of sight and when to eat my mini meals so that I'm not famished when my moms serve dinner.

Oh! At least Operation Eat More Protein for Bipolar Health is going really well. I'm keeping a closer watch on my protein intake and it's definitely improving. Still waiting to see how the increased protein affects my moods.
