I'm Roz from the Hunter Valley NSW, I'm 57 (and 5ft 4") & quit a 33 year smoking addiction just when I started going through peri menopause, fast forward 8 years & now I'm in the full blown version, although it's not too bad now since the hot flashes have all but gone. My weight has been up & down like a yoyo, it's so annoying, I've heard so many times how hard it is to lose weight while going through menopause. I was 54kg until I had my 2nd child at age 36 & number 3 at age 38, since then it's been like a rollercoaster up & down. My heaviest weight was 91.5kg when I started recording my progress on Fat Secret.

I've tried shakes, the cookie diet, lazy keto, counting calories & carbs & so on, so damn frustrating not getting anywhere. In 2022 I changed my entire outlook. I can't stick to diets so I chose to make a lifestyle change instead. I don't exercise apart from the daily routine of getting stuff done, they say cardio isn't good for 'my age' and doesn't help with weight loss so no point heating the old furnace up more than it already is, I take between 1500 and 5000 steps per day, I'm a T2 diabetic & I have neuropathy in my toes & peripheral vascular disease with blockages in my leg arteries in my abdomen.
After doing a bit of reading I decided to give intermittent fasting a try, (12-14 hours each day) so now I don't eat until around 10.30/11am. Since cutting out the sugar, FC milk, limiting bread & started fasting, and only eating when I'm hungry I've started to see some body changes & weight loss has been more consistent. Despite what the mirror tries to whisper to me every morning the small changes inspire me to keep going because the weight didn't creep on overnight and it's not going to drop off that quick either, the mirror also tells me how messy my hair looks too but meh hahaha!
