Phaseolamine (Phase 2)
Let me first say that I have no vested interested in any company that markets, or produces Phaseolamine. If you look at my profile you will see that I am just Dieter like the rest of you.

I don't know exactly why more of a fuss has not been made over this diet supplement. I have never used a supplement in the past however I have a good friend who recommended Phaseolamine or (Phase 2).

I am a diabetic (as well) so I wanted to be sure I was protecting myself from harm and that whatever I took was also going to work. I'm horribly frugal and wouldn't like paying anything of something that didn't work.

So I started a scientific study (of sorts). I take my blood sugar results several times a day, so I decided to use this supplement, which is supposed to inhibit the digestion of carbohydrates by nullifying the enzymes that break down carbs in your stomach, (sort of like "beano" but in reverse). Anywho, I took the supplement a half hour before eating as directed and then ate carbs It so happened that I was seeing a movie and was wanting to eat popcorn. I had a small bag of movie popcorn, I think about 30-50 carbs. This is normally twice the amount I eat for the whole day (Atkins). I checked my blood sugar before and then right after the movie (aprox 2 hrs later), my blood sugar actually went down!

I have tried this several times eating different combination of carbs, (never more than 30 to 50 carbs) and each time my blood sugar was unaffected.

I realize that this is not at all a rigourous scientific study, but I have never been kicked out of Ketosis (I test every morning and evening)

I do not use the supplement every day and since you have to take it a half hour before you eat you can't do something on the spur of the moment, however when I have taken the supplement and have eaten up to an extra 50-60 carbs it seems to have worked.

I recommend at least trying this supplement, (it was highlighted on Dr. Oz, if that holds any weight for those out there.) Again please do not flame me with accusations that I work for any company and this is a sales pitch, I don't. Furthermore, I realize that not everything works for everyone. It works for me and maybe it will for you...or maybe not. It certainly is not a tool to binge on Carbs on a low carb diet. I use it when I want to eat out on a special occasion or when I want to be part of the gang and have mashed potatoes on the holidays.

By the by, it does not work on any sugary products only starches. If you eat a donut, you may not absorb the donut but the glaze and/or filling will still knock you out of ketosis.
