Hello Again, Dear Friends! Only lost 0.2 lbs, but since this was my monthly splurge week where DD & I eat out & do grocery shopping I'll gladly accept that over gaining 1-2 lbs as I usually do. I'm sure this next week will be better. The strain in my left hip & lower back has healed, for which I am so grateful. I missed pool therapy on Tuesday as Hubby had a Dr's appt, & didn't exercycle at all, so I need to do better with that. Otherwise I'm doing great. We had church at home today, watching a DVD from Dr. RC Sproul & singing & praying together, just the two of us. We also listen to our pastor's sermons on www.sermonaudio.com, a fantastic website that features nearly 1 MILLION sermons that you can listen to online. So I'm going back now to continue my bible study, & I wish you all good health, success in your weight goals, & a happy & blessed Sunday. Hugs, GLAMMER

Hi Everyone. I am frustrated beyond words that, after cutting my already meager calorie intake by at least 300 per day I managed to GAIN .8 lbs ~ What's up with that??!!
BUT, I've decided to just ignore this, & just keep eating less (& enjoying it even less!), & hopefully next Sunday's weigh-in will show at least some kind of loss.
I've been very good this past week food wise, but one thing that might have messed me up was that Hubs had an eye exam Thursday morning, so I missed my water therapy. I exercycled to help make up for it, but I could only do 15 minutes so it probably didn't help much at all. On the other hand, this week if I make both of my water therapy appts AND exercycle on Monday, Wednesday & Friday (the days I don't have therapy), that should at least count for something. I had built up to exercycling 30 minutes, so hopefully I can build back up to that time. Yesterday my left hip & lower back were hurting badly all day. I must have over-extended it somehow. That's the trouble with having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I'm so double-jointed that it's very easy to stretch or twist too far, then something gets strained or dislocated, or "sublaxed" (partially dislocated where it pops right back in place). I got up in the night & used the heating pad for awhile then went back to bed. Hubs didn't want us to go to church today as we had planned, but I really wanted to go & my hip had finally quit hurting, so we went. We had told our daughters we would be there, & I had even told our pastor on Facebook. Plus, I had baked a cherry pie from scratch for the monthly pot luck, so I wasn't about to let a little thing like pain get in the way of attending church, LOL! Truthfully, I love attending church, & we only get to go once a month because it is about 35 miles each way & on our fixed income we really can't afford the gas to go every week. The church has offered to pay for our gas, but since it isn't a dire need we declined. On the Sundays we don't attend church we still hear our pastor's messages on Sermon Audio (an AWESOME website for good, solid bible teaching), & I check in with the church on Facebook during the week, so we do OK. For us church attendance isn't something we have to do to go to Heaven, or to gain points with God, etc., it's an act of love & worship, freely given. And "church" is not in a building made with men's hands, but it is as Jesus said: Matthew 18:20New King James Version (NKJV) - " For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” So, we can have church together here at home, & though it isn't ideal, we believe God honors it & have been blessed in doing it this way. Along with our daily devotions it keeps us going & growing in the Lord. I took a nap when we got home from church, but my toes & feet cramping woke me up. Couldn't get them to stop so I got up & took more meds, & for now I'm hardly hurting at all. YAY! I'm just going to relax & take it easy for the rest of the day, & hope tomorrow will be better, & that I can lose some weight this week. Tomorrow I start a challenge called "Sass in the Sun", & I hope it will help me with even healthier eating habits, exercising daily (both pool & exercycle) & tracking my food intake & exercise. ~ Have a great week, y'all! ~ GLAMMER

I'm trying to start recording everything I eat again. I'm really bad at doing this, & having to enter an entire recipe, one ingredient at a time, & figure out how the FS lists each type & amount, is way too tedious & time consuming for my liking. If anyone has any suggestions for speeding things up or an alternate way of recording a recipe, please let me know. I guess just entering the individual ingredients & amounts would be easier than doing the whole recipe, if I don't want to have it added to my cookbook. Why does everything have to be so complicated???!!!
Anyway, I entered the Sass in the Sun challenge, which starts in a couple of days, & part of it is tracking your food intake, so I have to make this work. I've been having either a diet drink or instant hot cereal for breakfast, & soup & / or sandwich & / or salad for lunch, then a regular sized healthy & low cal & low carb dinner. My total was 1240 calories today, & 1200 to 1400 is my set limit, so I did quite well.
I'm sure I would be feeling great, but our temps have been 107 F today & 108 F yesterday, plus some brush fires in our area which are adding ash to the air, & low hanging clouds are pushing the hot, dirty air right down our throats. Or at least that's how it feels, LOL! Sorry, I'm feeling poopy & gripy right now, & it's 12:30 AM, so I'll just say good night & get my crabby butt to bed. ;0D GLAMMER

Down another pound (almost) this week. That's great, especially since this was Hub's & my birthday celebration week. We went to the coast last Saturday to enjoy the cooler weather & its rocky loveliness. We had our traditional seafood dinner at our favorite restaurant, the Port Hole, in Gold Beach, OR. Then yesterday we celebrated again with our daughters, with lunch at Sizzler, followed by gifts & cake & ice cream at their house. So yes, I'll definitely accept a 1 lb loss, even though as hard as I worked for it I should & would have lost more if not for the splurges. That's all over now, & I'll keep on keepin on with my liquid breakfasts, mostly salad & veggy lunches, & regular low carb & cal dinners per my menu plan that I'm making. I am also determined to start exercycling every week day when I don't go to the Y, to burn more calories for even better weight loss. I still don't want to lose too fast, but 1 or 2 pounds a week would be great. ~ Happy, Skinny Dreams & Wishes, GLAMMER
