I have had a pattern since my 30's of being just right and very fit to letting myself go and having to do it all over again. Well I'm over 60 now so the time to break that pattern is now. That is why I am here. I'm not here to discuss children/grandchildren nor religion.

I live in Colorado, but love the ocean too. So I vacation on beaches a lot. I work so I can afford to travel. I like to read. I am an original geekgrl. Formerly lived in the Sydney area of New South wales Australia (best 4.5 yrs of my life.) I love a good laugh. I love a long walk outside. I love yoga moves and poses. Dancing is a good thing. I love to cook and pair wines with dishes. Ebooks and hardbacks both rock, don't ask me to choose which is better, they both hold charms for me.
Speaking of rocking, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Steve Miller, Elton John, Sanatana, Coldplay, Fergie, and Sheryl Crow all ROCK.

And of course, I have seen the latest installment of the Harry Potter movies, and can hardly wait for Spring to see the final one.

carbs and fiber
I follow the original Zone book it says nothing about net carbs, just the GI is important when it comes to carbs. The website has people on there that do net carbs but that concept is from Atkins' books not Sears' books.

I just joined here and after one day of following the Zone am already feeling better! How could I forget how very much I love being in the Zone?

Where is everyone from?
I live in the NW suburbs area of Denver CO. Lived in Australia for 4.5 yrs.and consider my "hometown" Sydney even though I haven't been back in 15 yrs.

As for shopping, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage, & Sunflower Market all have organics and great foods available, I'm pretty much in the middle of all of them. There are also seasonal farmers' marktes. We grow some things ourselves, herbs, kale, peas, apples, tomatoes, garlic, shallots, corn, and silverbeet. There is even bison available here. It is my fav meat.

Glad to see all the non-USAers in the forums. I am new to the site and am delighted with the smartphone/website synching.
