OK - I have lost all control - getting it back starting today, and thankful that I haven't gained anymore than I have. I'm giving the power to others as well - told my family I need their help to get back on track - I know me, and I'll completely lose it soon if I don't get control NOW!!
Reminder to me - I have felt awful the last few days - GERD is back full force, joints hurt, no energy, headaches, stomachaches...is junk food REALLY worth all that???? SERIOUSLY, Lisa!!! Get a grip, woman!!!
217.0 lb Lost so far: 28.0 lb.    Still to go: 7.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I'm going through one of those times right now too, we've had cake in the house and it is too hard for me to resist. Take back that control. You can do it!! Hope you feel better soon.

Sierra - you are so right - i have the best support system - right here!! And mars2 - the cake thing - ugh!! When I talked to my husband last night, his first comment was, "don't you want to wait a week or two til all these birthdays are out of the way" - my son's b-ay is this weekend - (cake), and mine is next weekend (cake) with several graduations in-between (cake). lol. It will be a test - no doubt, but if I'm gonna do this, then I have to get back on the horse 100%. I think I fooled myself into thinking these little cheats were OK, but they all just turned into one big downward spiral. NO MORE!! there are always alternatives!

You have the right attitude! I understand that hubby is just trying to help, but there will always be a birthday, wedding, graduation, or holiday.

my birthday was last week. It was hard but not as bad as I thot. Put a piece of carrot cake in the freezer in Feb for my bday . Looking back I'd say that is planned cheating haha. I just had a bite of it and a bite of cheesecake. M&M's are my vice and I had saved pack for my birthday, and ate them next morning. So done and done with that. Weight is coming off slow tho I'm keeping my carbs down. Every pound lost is one less on, so I'm okay. May have to adjust my year goal.

Ha! My daughter's birthday is this weekend too (she asked for Daddy's homemade caramel-butterscotch cheesecake)! My birthday party next weekend and Mother's day the weekend after that. And I'm right there with you on the cheats growing exponentially! We can do this!!! You and me- we're gonna get back on track. We need to do this for our kids, for our husbands, but mostly for ourselves! I'm tired of feeling this way.

Me too!! I want to have energy - I want to be able to run! Every little battle is worth it. You're right amiga - WE CAN DO THIS!!!! BTW - I like the planning ahead idea ARSEE - maybe I can help the family to plan ahead too, by encouraging them to NOT offer sweet and bad stuff on b-day and mother's day (ugh - forgot about that one - lol) Make some Big Train brownies and have them instead - mmmm

I feel you! I've been on the downward spiral the past few weeks, just a bite at a time that shouldn't make a big difference. I refuse to feel guilty about it but the scale isn't cooperating with what I want to be seeing. Good for you to get you family involved and getting the support you need. Don't hide it! You've put in so much hard work - Keep it up!

Just a suggestion, but Pillsbury makes a low sugar chocolate and yelllow cake mix as well as a low sugar vanilla and chocolate frosting. I made cupcakes for Easter and they were quite yummy and not even close to as many carbs as the original....
