Wow, a 3.5 lb gain in 1 week. It's true. I earned it.
Actually, 2 days ago I was 200.4. I refused to record it.
Yesterday I was 199.6. I forgot to record it.
I figure this 198.6 weight is exact, there will be no ups or downs from this from water gain or loss. I am 1.4 pounds from being 200 again.
And the worst part is, I don't have the energy or motivation to do anything about it. I don't WANT to diet, I'm HUNGRY and I want GOOD FOOD. I don't WANT to exercise, it sucks.
But there's still that nag within me, do SOMETHING, don't let this get out of control. I wish there were a magic cure to give me unlimited energy and to never be hungry.
198.6 lb Lost so far: 24.8 lb.    Still to go: 13.6 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 3.0 lb a week

I know exactly how you feel! I was at 196 a couple days ago and decided this was it, I could not let it continue to slide.....I was at 177 in May and at my goal weight 1.5 years ago.....so I've decided to pre-record EVERYTHING that is going in my mouth. I picked up a book by Dr. Sarah Gottfried MD '"The Hormone Reset Diet" and I started the Hormone reset diet 2 days ago.......I read her book- and yes, I'm definitely having issues with my various hormones that are out of wack and have caused me to gain weight. She encourages you to eat FAT, limit your carbs to 50 net carbs or less (Carbs less fiber) - just make sure you stay over 20 so you don't go into ketosis. Here is the basic breakdown: Drink Water: 2.2 liters per day for women Vegetables: Aim for one pound per day- aim for half raw and half cooked (thyroid problems try to lightly cook)- make some vegetable soup Protein: Eat 25-40 grams of clean protein per meal, aiming for 75 to 125 grams per day (eat chicken, eggs, cold water fish, limited non –Gm soy and legumes) Net Carbs- et 25 to 49 grams of net carbs (total carbs less fiber, in grams) per day Healthy Fats: eat remaining calories in fat, or about ½ of your total calories. Eat avocados, cook food in coconut oil and ghee. Move: at least 30 minutes per day of movement or exercise; yoga, walking usually best. Drink one shake per day- up to two shakes per day (Shake powder: Protein 15 grams minimum and 20 preferred; 8 grams carbs, Sugar 5 grams, Fiber capsules, low glycemic fruit (berries), I'm eating three meals a day- keeping my carbs around 50 and have really upped my protein, plus making sure I'm drinking a lot of water and getting 1-2 shakes that I doctor with cinnamon, vanilla and ice. It's HUGE, if you up your protein you need a lot of water to keep yourself from having kidney problems. In two days I've lost 3.5 pounds and the BEST part is I haven't been hungry!! So don't despair, check this book out, 'The Hormone Reset Diet" and pre-record what you're going to eat. It makes life so much easier to put your foods in your journal and have fat secret tell you how many carbs, proteins, fiber, etc.

You are so kind for taking the time to relay all of that information! It might just be the kick I need to change things up, thank you!

Try cutting some - not all of your carbs - just do the really good ones for a few days-you know, stop bread, pasta,rice-and up your protein - good protein - eggs, your favorite lean meat, fish, etc. Then just add 2 more glasses of water a day. Just do this for three days, keeping your total calories to 1,000-1,200, and see if it helps. That way you get to eat and still help your body.

I am not trying to put her into ketosis, I am just suggesting something that really worked for me. Sometimes just trying something new gives you a great boost. I am not that scientific in my approach to weight loss. My daily mood can affect my weight loss/gain. No guru method here.

I know how you feel. This is a passing feeling. I keep gaining when I am trying my best to lose. The best thing to do is get back on the plan and keep trying. Do what you know you need to do even though yu hate it and when the results come (and they will), you will be glad you did. Hang in there and don't give up! I have gained 3 lbs also in the last few days and it is aggravating! WE CAN"T GIVE UP!

Amen to never giving up. I am not interested in a ketosis/non ketosis conversation. All I want/wanted to do was to share. Never give up is so correct. I read a great article once that said the very best thing we can do is to stick to WHATEVER method we choose that fits us best. Just know that you are not alone in this effort, and that we all are in your corner!! We can DO THIS.
