As our family events always center around good food and drinks, the knowledge that I must limit my intake does not overcome my love of good food and fine wines. To tell me that it is okay to enjoy these things but do so with moderation, and portion control, unfortuantely falls on deaf ears at family get togethers.
222.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 42.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 2.5 lb a week

Why don't you just create a larger calorie deficit in the days leading up to an event?
