I have a terrible feeling I will gain weight this winter because we don't move around as much as in summer & don't play sports or go for long summer walks. Yes, I know we can still take long walks but I am not as inspired to as much in the cold.Oh yea, the outdoor activites around town are cut back alot due to school & weather. To me it is dreaded. Also I have just started taking a new medicine which 1 s/e is you may gain weight. What do you do when you have this against you?I would deeply appreciate any help on these problems. I am lost.
126.0 lb Lost so far: 4.0 lb.    Still to go: 16.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

First, you need to be positive and not have a "everything is stacked against me" attitude. Second, you need to look into fitness classes that meet in your area or join a gym. I joined Curves last spring and really like it since it is women only and the machines are the right size for us. Yes, a gym membership costs money, but wouldn't you rather pay money to have a nice place to exercise and do things for your health now than pay out that and more on medical bills later? If a gym or fitness class really isn't an option you need to find a walking partner and make each other go no matter what the weather. I too, hate the cold so the gym is a much better option for me. Finally, if the medicine starts to make you gain weight work with your doctor to find another option and be insistant! Good luck...I know you can do it!!

I also suggest the gym you choose to join is CLOSE to your house or you will use the excuse to far to drive in this weather.(that was me). I know the rx weight gain is a hard pill (pun) to swallow but you just have to stick to this plan and this plan will prevent the weight gain!! I have been here on an rx that causes weight gain and it can be controlled. Of course you do not loose as easy but you can stop the gain!!!!

join your local YMCA, swim, walk on the treadmill, join an exercise aerobics class there is a ton you can do!

Any chance you get, get up and move! No more sitting during commercials... Park your car FAR away every time. Take stairs not elevators... and shift your thinking from "I will gain weight" to "I will continue to lose". Off your butt lol!
