SingSweet's Journal, 18 September 2011

Today has been hard...hard to eat enough calories! Made low carb pancakes for breakfast (a first) and they were delish. Skipped lunch...bad idea, so I had a Atkins bar to tide me over. I knew I needed to have a good dinner. Hubby wanted salad with shrimp, so that's what we both had. Shrimp were frozen and already cooked, so I thawed them and took the tails off. We sauteed them in 1/2 t EVOO and 1t butter, with 2t minced garlic and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning....wonderful! Still did not have over 1K calories today....need to figure out a way to boost up my protein intake but not fat intake...any help would be appreciated.

On Atkins you don't need to keep your fat intake low, in fact that would be a great way to get more calories. Adding in a whole foods lunch would help. Try some avocado on your salad and be more generous with the olive oil and butter.

I agree with misskrs. Also it would help to have more small meals throughout the day. I personally don't lose weight eating any processed Atkins bars or other processed foods.

tuna is a great protein without much fat, but i agree with both sararay and misskrs...don't look at the fat content too much. i realize this goes against everything that has been taught to us by the media and out physicians...but the longer i stay on program the bigger of a believer i am!
