Happy New Year’s Eve. Doing this quickly as I have people coming over tonight and need to finish some stuff up.

Swam yesterday, it had been more than a month and I needed to get one in before the year is gone. Wasn’t too bad, just off my PR by a few strokes 902 vs. 923. Kept a cough drop in my mouth and it did the trick. Did two walks with the pups in between the rain. Heart rate was pretty good, too. Means I didn’t lose everything this past month. 8.7 METs which is low given that I spent 11 minutes in peak and 17 in cardio. Average heart rate 144. Remembering that i did pause for 5 seconds to turn off an incoming phone call. Good to know that disrupts the flow. I am sore, but not where you’d think. My hands and wrists and my shoulders were achy last night. That’s from not being in the water for so long. I’m actually pretty happy with overall performance given that I’ve been sick and away from the pool. You work with what you have.

Turns out those waves we saw the other night were crazy dangerous. My friend in IB got some flooding, she’s lived down there for years. I was watching clips from Swami’s and Black’s Beach last night - some offshore were 30’. Massive.

Today, we’re rowing and skiiing. Will try and swim tomorrow. Dogs always need walks, that’s honestly why I love having them. Kick my butt out the door. Blob down, water down, still not eating my veggies as much as normal, but we’ll get there. I just need my overall routine first.

Annual recaps for me because they disappear in two weeks. Overall, I did pretty good given the circumstances. I also threw away two pairs of worn out walking shoes this morning. 😁

Happy New Years. Yeah I read about those waves in the news. Ahhh swimming I remember when you did that every day. I miss swimming I will try to go to a pool in the new year
