I'm not so sure. Do you really feel you're being well represented by your elected officials? The herd is very poor at accommodating your needs and interests. They just get to spend your money so you don't have the resources to do as you would do. What you're actually doing is depending on the genius of the people in the middle of the bell curve.

Me too, Debra. I'm currently reading the book 'Quiet' by Susan Cain again (about introverted personalities). She claims that schools main goal now is not to educate but rather to promote extroversion and personality over character and education. I'm afraid theye succeeded at the first part... not educating well. On the other hand, as long as they join and follow the herd....

Oh I live in a state with a revolving door on the prison just for Governors. No I'm definitely not well represented. Yes, mob mentality is often a bad thing, but I would say the majority of people agree that murder is bad. The majority probably feel girls being sold into slavery is bad. The majority of people on this web site are here to lose weight (although I have seen a few here to gain weight which...um wrong site?). I think Twain was just saying take a step back, and make sure it truly meshes with your morality before proceeding. Don't drown the young girl to see if she is a witch just because everybody else is doing it. Trust and believe I have been a minority 98% of my life.
