hi!!! stay on the induction phase for a little longer and you will see results!! are you getting enough fat/veggies?? you need to make sure 12 net carbs come from veggies and you avereage 18-22 net carbs a day. while your on the induction phase you should try to avoid the bars, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, and alcohol, as they slow down ketosis... it sounds to me like maybe you never entered ketosis. i have been on it for a few days now and have lost 4 lbs... i really have never heard of someone in induction not losing rapid fat... im just trying to help you, so please dont take offense to anything i write.. it's all in the hopes to help you and make sure you are doing it properly. you have to eat high fat and protein... so no turkey bacon, you need pork. fry your eggs in butter, and make sure you get enough veggies.. also, i just watched a movie about low carb life.. its really funny too, it was a rebuttal to the movie super-size me and it changed how i viewed low carb vs low calorie and fat diets... i urge you to watch it. go to hulu.com -thats where i found it. and again, it's called fat head. sooo soo good! Godd luck to you! ... check out my food diaries and see what i mean ;) (not talking down to you at all but..) making sure that you also know about net carbs vs carbs.. it helps in getting enough-- net carbs is carbs minus fiber. so if something has 8 carbs but 4 grams of fiber then it really only counts as 4 (net)carbs!!! keep it going and i promis you will see results!!! Oh and drink lots of water toooo! if you follow it right you will see results by day 3!! dont give up!

That is frustrating! As I look at your oly diet entry, I see that you don't have nearly enough fat percentage on your daily RDI. You should be getting about 60-70% fat, 20-25% protein and the rest carbs. Try to log all of your food, (and I mean ALL) for the next week or so and then ask one of the Atkins people to take a look at it. I am sure we can get you back on track. Don't give up and feel free to buddy me if I can help you in any way.

Hello Mrs Mendoza, I don't know what age group you are in but believe me it is possible not to lose anything in induction! There are those of us who are in the 60+ age group who have experienced this, for one reason or another. However, the inches have come off and feeling so good makes up for the disappointment I suppose :) I just keep plugging on and try to keep the fat up, protein down and carbs within the 15-20 net area. Keep posting. Will be interested to see if you have a breakthrough! astra46

Hi gals! Thanks for the encouraging words! I am 31, I'll be 32 in September. I have about 50 pounds to lose. I am a new woman today. After pouting last night (no I didn't cheat), I am refreshed and ready to go again today. I will not have any bars and will try to add more fat and eat more vegies today. Thanks and keep looking at my diet. MUAH!
