I am 66 years young :) Live in Australia and I have a deep interest in matters spiritual. I enjoy quilting and love embroidery of all types. I have had a weight problem since puberty and a life time of diets resulting in too much fat and not enough lean muscle which is very difficult to build up now. But hey, life is to be lived and having found the low carb way again after many years feel thatI I have a way of life to follow for the rest of my days :) Also discovered that I have inherited a gene mutation which does not allow the food I eat to be converted to glucose for energy but rather stores all carbs eaten as 'fat'!!

Hello Dana, have read your post and those following. However, the ratios that you need to be aiming for are actually 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carb. You can check these on the moderator's page. Daily recommendations are 2 tbsp oil (dressings), 1 tbsp butter, 28mls cream (pure cream), 56gms cheese, 2-3 eggs, 2-3 svgs meat, poultry, fish, 10 olives and/or 1/2 avocado. Good luck. astra46

Not losing
Hey Mariporker, the secret is to keep your fats up. The ratios are apparently around 60%-70% fats, 20-25% protein and remainder carbs which should not exceed 20 per day in induction. Can be difficult to keep the fat ratio up there but by adding a couple of tsps of oil to your salad and vegies and butter as well this can make a huge difference. Keep up the good work Smile astra46

Running Injuries
Hi mfraser. A quick question - where is the pain in your foot? I injured my left food about 10 days ago, pain in the left side of the foot just below the ankle - feels like the small bones in the foot - and the foot and ankle seems to swell by the end of each day. Is this anything like yours?
